![]() This leads to the ultimate disarticulation of the concept of a stable and coherent “I”, something carried out by means of language, the very same words that created it. The characters of these works (if we can speak of this concept in any traditional terms) cross gender boundaries, just as the texts combine different literary genres. This author’s textual and multimedial experiments in novels such as El cofre (1987), Lóbulo (1998) and in the installation novel - performance Hembros (2004), point to a cultural phenomenon that can be described as “a crisis of identity”. ![]() This study examines how subjectivity, particularly sexuality, is represented by means of ambiguous, transitive and metamorphous subjects such as androgynes and post-human automatons (androids, cyborgs) in the works of contemporary Chilean writer and visual artist Eugenia Prado. ![]()
